Welcome!

to the website of Prof Lorena A Barba’s research group at Boston University.

Prof Barba obtained her PhD in Aeronautics (2004) from California Institute of Technology.  She is a computational scientist and fluid dynamicist.  Her research interests include:

  1. CFD, including particle methods and immersed boundary methods for fluids simulation

  2. fundamental and applied aspects of fluid dynamics, especially flows dominated by vorticity dynamics

  3. development of fast and efficient algorithms

  4. use of novel computer architectures (especially GPUs)

  5. fast multipole method and applications

  6. boundary element method and applications, especially for implicit solvent models of bioelectrostatics
