Welcome!

to the website of Prof Lorena A Barba’s research group at Boston University.

Prof Barba obtained her PhD in Aeronautics (2004) from California Institute of Technology.  She is a computational scientist and fluid dynamicist.  Her research is currently focused on:

  1. particle methods for fluid simulation

  2. development of fast and efficient algorithms

  3. use of novel computer architectures (e.g. GPU)

  4. fundamental and applied aspects of fluid dynamics, especially flows dominated by vorticity dynamics
